Unwrapping my new Super Car - LSxHumvee
I know a lot of you loved the Italian Flag 3 color wrap but I'm thinking more Batmobile for this build. So, I removed the wrap to see what was underneath!

Humvee Horn Mod - LSxHumvee
Переглядів 2,9 тис.2 роки тому
If you install an aftermarket wheel in your Humvee and want to use the factory horn you'll need this quick mod. Took me a little bit to figure it out but it's VERY easy to use your factory horn with an aftermarket steering wheel.
Humvee Steering Wheel Upgrade - LSxHumvee

I got my hands on one of the MPI steering wheels from Motion Raceworks. This particular wheel is the Cleetus off road edition with the american flag bottom. The quality is amazing and the finishes are great! It's a welcome addition to the Humvee.
I visit Black Dog Customs - LSxHumvee
Переглядів 1,9 тис.2 роки тому
I'm in need of a turbo dog house and the divider that goes between the bed and the cab. Black Dog Customs is only 2 hours from my shop so I took a ride to get what I needed and check out their shop and projects. Mike was a great host and showed me everything they had going on. The parts are top notch quality.

Spent the morning taking out the converter so I can send it back to TCS and have it tightened up more around 2000rpm. The new trans jack was a game changer!
300 Mile After Build Test Drive - LSxHumvee
Переглядів 1,9 тис.2 роки тому
I took the Humvee to Carolina Driveline to get the front driveshaft built. The 300 mile round trip test drive came with some challenges but I was able to get it home and found a few items that need to be addressed. We're getting closer!

So I did a thing. Just traded in my F250 for a new 2021 Gen 3 Raptor, then jumped it! 2021 GEN 3 Raptor with the 37 Performanc Pack in Leadfoot Gray. I signed up for the TORR event at Durhamtown Off-Road Park and did some trail rides and two different track runs. It was an absolute blast. Anyway, here's the new daily. #gen3raptor #fordraptor #ecoboost #2021raptor #2021fordraptor #torroffroad #d...

Day 3 of Mudbug, day 5 of our trip. We started with a long loop out to the Gulf and back then had lunch at Spunky Monkey. After lunch we were invited to run with some speed boats and man was it fun. The 75-80mph for 30 minutes straight. Overall it was a blast!
MUDBUG Day 2 Redeemed!! - LSxHumvee

Mudbug day 2 went as planned and was perfect. The ski ran great without a thermostat and the rides were beautiful. I did get attacked by a flying carp but that was the worst for the day, so not that bad.
MUDBUG Day 1 Didn't Go As Planned - LSxHumvee
Переглядів 1452 роки тому
The day started out great but man did it turn quick. After a morning ride I got stuck for 3 hours in the swamp in waist deep mud. The ski is filthy, full of mud and overheating now. I hope tomorrow is better and we were able to fix the ski for good, we'll see on day 2.

Put seal in freezer before install
Great tour thanks 🙏 for sharing. Did you ever got your Humvee insured?
Great video. Helped me a ton
Do you recommend to buy OEM breaks and rotors? Or just from a local part store
Feed that impact gun. 1/2” hose with high flow fittings. You’ll be surprised
Hey i’ve seen all your videos …very nice… so it’s been five years do you still have your Hmmwv??
Thanks for this video, I helped me to lift mine! Curious though, why didn't you use spring compressors? I did and it was pretty straightforward (two videos). I also took the sway bar loose, which I may have missed on this video. Thanks again!
your is gas engine swap right?
65/73 ftlbs could be different as some versions have different sizes nuts on top and bottom. I know mine has 5/16 top and 7/16 bottom - some use both 7/16 and some use 3/8 too.... This is just a guess. But if both top and bottom are the same size, most likely, they will use the same torque specs
Thanks a million
What did you do about the horn? Nevermind. I saw the next video.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, lucky. You should swing by our shop when you pass through St Augustine Florida again.
Pretty cool, congrats.
Do you think cutting the airbox like you did, would be beneficial for a non turbo stock 6.5 Diesel in mine?
Did you install the ARB? any video?
I have 2 units id like to convert
Great video not sure what I would have done without it. I am getting some air leaking is that OK?
How did you get the wire out when it was embedded in the steering column?
Any updates on the Humvee? It looks like your highway cruising RPM is around 3,000-3,400 rpm? That seems like it's not going into overdrive.
Or the torque converter wasn't locking up
That's not a lift.
I’ve seen all your videos very nice!! When will you make a new video see what have you done to the Hmmwv lately?
Did the original hmmwv transmission mate to the lsx? I haven't seen all your videos yet but I'm planning on a lsx swap also.
Hey what’s the name brand your electric fans please?? Thanks
Could a whiffle charger be put on?
He’s my dad
Hey Charlotte NC here… what’s the size and the brand name of your fans please??. Thanks
It looks nice btw I’m Jason’s son and macys brother
Absolutely cool Hmmwv !!! What is the brand name for electric fans? Thanks
They are up a few bucks. $500 now
Black rims with 0” offset will give it just what it needs
Are the boots the same size for both types of ball joints?
When you don't have the weight available to compress the spring use a chain hoist. You have to get creative to rig it properly, but I just used a 2 ton chain hoist to compress the springs on my HMMWV when the body, drive train, and majority of the chassis was taken apart and it worked beautifully. I went around the bottom of the control arm right at the ball joint with the dead hook, and the body hook went above the shock pivot and to the opposite frame rail. I used a manual chain hoist this time, but the last time I had to do something similar I used an electric 2 ton hoist and it was all to easy. Just be careful not matter what you are doing, stored energy in a spring can mame or kill you. Use a small chain through the frame and a few coils, if something let's go unexpectedly the chain will restrain the spring. Be careful out there.
Nice work!
Someone said you were running 12's in the 1/4th mile with this thing... wheres that video???
which starter are you using? doesn't look like an OEM AMG starter
It has an LS swap so the starter is just the factory GM LS starter.
Hey I know your videos might be old but I just purchased my first Humvee. And I like watching your videos very informing. Question, how do you take out the hatch? I think it’s glued in. What do you think? Have you ever heard of that?
I'm not sure what you mean by hatch?
Hey sorry! I’m taking about where the big guns sit on the roof… Hardtop roof… they sealed it Wonder if you can re-open it.
Hey, I know this is a video but great work!! I have a question would you have a power steering gearbox you would sell me?? Thanks
I don't have a power steering unit but it uses a factory GM steering box so it should be pretty easy to source or you can send yours to redhead steering gear and have it rebuilt.
Thanks!!!
Man very nice!! I know this may be a old video but cool!! I just bought my first Hmmwv …. question if I put.40s on is 2” lift kit enough or do I have to do the body too??? Thanks
Any one else have the problem that when the lower arm is down the spring is still tight?
When you disconnect the upper ball joint on the portal it should drop down and the spring should pretty much fall out. You also have to make sure the shock is disconnected at the top to allow the droop.
I needed this video! Thank you so much!!
How was the gas mileage with the lsx swap?
I need to do this update video ASAP. I'm not sure what mileage I'm getting now.
@@LSXHumvee Should be interesting.
Very interesting mod.
Great video to show a lot of the important steps. I'll be replacing shocks soon on our H1 and this video was a great view of the critical components involved.
Hey bud! What’s that bed flashing called?
Did he reply to your question?
Excited to see you back; and appreciate you making these videos
You: I could do this... cuz I'm lazy... Or it can be done properly... refer to actual service manual
Your daughter stole the show. What a personality. Hahaha
She has a blast riding along.
What area of Georgia are you? I’m in Auburn, I have a humvee, not a super car. Haha
I'm up by Lake Lanier, Gainesville area.
Much appreciated! Stationed out in Korea and this was a good watch 👍🏼
You got lucky. I been trying to install the new style HMMWV wheel on my 87. Been trying to use a steering wheel puller for 2 days now and it will not move. Yes, the nut is off. I have removed wheels before and never ran into this problem. Ready to start cutting.
Yeah it was a tough one for real. Many tools and some frustration but finally got it to come off.
